This Friday, Dec. 1, the Walrus will rock the Fairhaven Pub and Martini Bar in Bellingham. This will be the classic rock band’s last public appearance this year, and it’s going to be a great way to start thinking about 2007, “The Year of the Walrus.”
The Walrus rockers are thrilled to have a fabulous opening act – The Senate (from Seattle) open for them. Members of the Senate are quickly becoming one of the hottest bands in Seattle. They are a 3-piece acoustic act, with two acoustic guitars and a stand-up bass, and they all sing. These guys are in their young 20s, and they have the stage presence and musicianship of seasoned pros — with fresh energy and excitement.
Chuck Robinson, who owns Village Books, said recently: “The Walrus and The Senate are my two favorite local bands on my iPod.”
Usually the Fairhaven does not allow bands to start until 10 pm, because of the restaurant upstairs, but since The Senate has no loud drums or thumping bass beat, The Fairhaven has agreed to a starting time of 9.
The Walrus will then play their new classic rock songs from “Uncovered,” the new CD, and they will be able to take credit cards for autographed CDs and T-shirts. You’ll want to get both the Walrus and the Senate CDs as the holiday gift-giving season launches into full gear. Rumor has it, free bumper stickers from both bands will be given out.
