Members of Alaska’s “Tribute” band is in its final rehearsals for a major rock concert of classic Beatles tunes at the Ketchikan Coliseum Theater on Saturday.
Known for its covers of the Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tribute reconfigured its musician lineup earlier this year, adding Chuck Dingee, a veteran from the classic-rock band Walrus in Bellingham, WA, for the special Beatles tribute concert Nov. 14.
Dingee, shown here with a Walrus wannabee on Halloween, will play rhythm guitar and sing lead on popular Beatles songs from the 1960s and 1970s. Dingee is rehearsing this week with Tribute’s Dan Leask (drums), Tim Marsden (lead guitar, vocals, and keyboard), Ray Baines (bass and vocals), and Louisa Beal (keyboards and vocals).
“I’m looking forward to playing with Tribute this week,” Dingee says. “We plan to rock the Ketchikan Coliseum Theater with a memorable evening of Beatles music beginning at 1 p.m.”
Tickets for Saturday’s Beatles tribute concert are on sale at the theater in Ketchikan for $15. CDs by Tribute and the Walrus will also be available for sale at the event.
